Becoming a member of this organization will provide opportunities to network and work one on one with Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. ASTRA Student Club will provide volunteer opportunities that will: fulfill required professional leadership hours for the students in the School of Community Resources and Development at Arizona State University, and allow each student to explore their passion and skills in various practical settings. Students will continually strive to enhance experiential and academic opportunities, all while focusing on fundamental goals set by ASTRA which are: to promote professional excellence in Therapeutic Recreation by increasing public awareness, advocating for excellence in the educational and clinical arenas, enhancing the knowledge base of the profession through educational opportunities, and promoting research based practice. Our service and leadership opportunities are directly related to the Therapeutic Recreation field of: purposeful activities, therapeutic interventions, skill development, attitudes and perceptions regarding healthy and independent lifestyles. Attending professional educational conferences is another priority that we strive to attain. Join ASTRA Student Club– Membership is open to ALL Students!
